What instruments?

We are looking for instruments normally found in a chamber orchestra:
Violin | Viola | Cello | Double Bass | Flute | Oboe | Clarinet | Bassoon | Horn | Trumpet | Trombone | Percussion | Harp | Piano

What standard?

We are looking for advanced players of grade 8 standard or equivalent – although you don’t have to have taken any exams.

What skills?

We are looking for young musicians who love making music.

Who are:

• highly talented classical players
• open minded and inquisitive
• passionate about their instrument

Who enjoy:

• working in large and small groups alike
• playing in an orchestra and would like to discover different ways of working
• collaborating and exploring new music

To apply you must:

• Get your instrumental music teacher or your school music teacher, to write a short paragraph for you on this form: PDF Form, Excel Form
• Get your parent or registered carer’s signature. If you fill your form in digitally, we will assume your parent has seen and supports to your application.

Application Deadline

Please note that audition slots on 10th and 11th April will in the first instance; be offered to young people who will be sitting GCSE, AS or A-levels this Summer.
After students sitting exams have been prioritised, auditions will be filled on a first come first served basis.

If you would like to be considered for an audition on the 10th or 11th April, the deadline for your application is Friday 14 March 2014. We will continue to accept applications for the later audition slots until Monday 7 April 2014, which is the final deadline. 

After the appropriate deadline, you will be informed of your audition date and sent a piece of chamber music to prepare.
