Britten Sinfonia at Lunch
Britten Sinfonia’s award-winning lunchtime series returns for a new season in November 2010 and continues to bring some of the finest chamber repertoire to audiences interspersed with contemporary music which has been specially commissioned for the series. This season Britten Sinfonia has co-commissioned with London’s Wigmore Hall four British composers to create new works; Luke Bedford, Jonathan Dove, Charlie Piper amd Elspeth Brooke.
Britten Sinfonia at Lunch was awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Chamber Music Award 2009. Now in its seventh season, the series tours to Brighton, Cambridge, London and Norwich. The Cambridge concerts are recorded by BBC Radio 3 for broadcast in Spring 2012.
