Ockeghem Ut heremita solus

This opening concert in Britten Sinfonia’s lunchtime series focuses on the chamber music of pioneering composer, Harrison Birtwistle, who celebrates his 75th birthday during 2009. Much of Birtwistle’s music has been influenced by Medieval and Renaissance masters. In this performance each contemporary work is juxtaposed by a work by either Bach or a composer of the Middle Ages. Britten Sinfonia will also perform a new work by emerging composer Christian Mason.

In Conversation – Christian Mason introduces his new work, co-commissioned by Britten Sinfonia and Wigmore Hall.
London – 12.15pm
