New York composer Nico Muhly has now firmly established himself on the new music scene and in this concert Britten Sinfonia and the renowned Dutch chamber ensemble, the Storioni Trio, perform the world première of his Triple Concerto. Britten Sinfonia will also be joined by regular collaborator Pekka Kuusisto plus violinist Vadim Repin and soprano Evelina Dobracheva in a varied programme featuring some of the classical repertoire's best-loved music.

Mico Muhly's new piece is co-commissioned by Britten Sinfonia and Muziekcentrum Frits Philips.

In February 2010 Britten Sinfonia toured a new work by Nico Muhly for Pekka Kuusisto and Mark Padmore. Britten Sinfonia violinist Lizzie Ball interviewed Nico about this new work entitled Impossible Things;
