For Children and Young People

Many of our projects involve young people in music, as performers, composers and listeners. We work with children of all ages and backgrounds, from babies and toddlers to young musicians embarking on their performing careers.

Schools which are bringing groups to our concerts can access a range of related resources and activities. We can tailor programme notes to suit the age and experience of the group, and we can offer opportunities to meet musicians and composers who will be able to tell the group more about what to expect during the concert, and answer any questions afterwards.

We also work with schools on longer-term projects related to the repertoire we are performing. These are planned in conjunction with teachers, and can last for anything from a day to several months. See our highlights page for examples of past projects, or contact us for information on how to get involved.

Projects during the 2012-13 season include:

• Creative Learning At Lunch workshops linked to our lunchtime concerts in Cambridge, Norwich, & London.
• Minimalism Composition project with GCSE Music students from Parkside Federation Academies inspired by our Adams & Muhly Concert.
• Serenade – Working with primary school children from Norfolk on a composition project, culminating in a performance of a new song-cycle on 26 June 2013.
