Duży wpływ na jego twórczość mieli mistrzowie kompozycji z XIV-XVI wieku . W programie, współczesne utwory zostały zestawione z muzyka Bacha oraz Machaut’a i Ockeghem’a. Muzycy Britten Sinfonia wykonają również premierową kompozycję Christiana Masona.
