Britten Sinfonia’s new 2011-12 season brochure is here! The guide gives the latest information on all the concerts the orchestra will be performing during the 2011-12 season plus a selection of articles about different areas of our work.
The articles include:
• a piece by the Telegraph’s Classical Music Critic, Ivan Hewitt, about experiencing a piece of newly commissioned music for the first time (Pg 5)
• a chance discover Britten Sinfonia’s Creative Learning work with the launch of Britten Sinfonia’s Academy and its evolving Sinfonia at Work programme(Pg 14 & Pg 32)
• views from players and musicians working with Britten Sinfonia this year (Pgs 10, 18 & 24)
• a insight into the impact relationship with our International Partner, Cambridge University Press (Pg 30)
It’s a really exciting season which includes the launch of Britten Sinfonia Voices, as well as Britten Sinfonia’s Academy to identify and nurture talented young musicians from the East of England. The orchestra also makes its US debut in February 2012 at New York’s Lincoln Center as part of a series of international tours across the world. The orchestra will be working again with world renowned guest artists including Sir Mark Elder, Simon Keenlyside, Pekka Kuusisto, Thomas Adés and Lucy Crowe amongst others.
