Britten Sinfonia is focussed on Festivals over the summer months. So far this year we have performed at Brighton, Aldeburgh and City of London Festivals and still to come this summer; performances at the world famous BBC Proms and Glyndebourne Festivals.

Musicians from Britten Sinfonia have been working with Norfolk children who have recently begun learning instruments. The combined ensemble performed to parents and teachers at St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich and The Corn Exchange, King’s Lynn.

Britten Sinfonia is delighted to announce that we have been nominated for a Classical Music Prize 2010 in the category ‘large ensemble or orchestra’ by The Association of Dutch Theatre and Concert Halls (VSCD).

26 March 2010 - Norfolk children enjoy Big concert!
On Monday 22 March, over 200 six and seven year olds from six Norfolk primary schools enjoyed a very special concert by a Britten Sinfonia string quintet, the culmination of a Creative Learning project which started back in January.

Bach meets Brazil in this concert given by the outstanding pianist, Joanna MacGregor, and one of the UK’s most dynamic and musically inquisitive chamber orchestras, the Britten Sinfonia. This programme crosses the invisible divide between the classical and popular Brazilian music, and the concert is sure to sell out fast.
