Opus 2013 winner announced
Following a packed workshop day in which all the shortlisted composers had their pieces workshopped, we are delighted to announce that the winner of the Opus 2013 competition is Ryan Latimer.
Ryan, 22, is from Warrington, Cheshire, and is currently studying for a Masters in composition at Birmingham Conservatoire. As the winner of the Opus 2013 competition he will receive a co-commission from Britten Sinfonia and Wigmore Hall to complete a 10-minute piece, which will be performed in the following Britten Sinfonia At Lunch concerts:
Wednesday 3 April, Wigmore Hall, London –1pm
Friday 5 April 2013, Assembly Rooms, Norwich –1pm
Tuesday 9 April, West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge –1pm*

Everyone involved in the judging process thought standard of composition shown by all ten shortlisted composers was extremely high, and would like to thank them all for the time and effort they put in.
