A Tenner for a Tenor

From a Picasso or a Matisse hanging in a gallery, to a perfectly-formed sculpture by Michelangelo or Rodin: great art has the capacity to astonish, enthral and captivate us.
Now close your eyes and open your ears. Great art still surrounds us. Music has the power to inspire, to invigorate, to illuminate. And now, you have the chance to do something really special: to help create it.
Britten Sinfonia is commissioning a new piece of music from Jonathan Dove, to be premièred in April 2012 and broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Written for our virtuosic players and the tenor Mark Padmore, you can help make this commission a reality with just £10. A tenner for a tenor.
That’s the same price as 4lb of sausages.
Your support will be acknowledged in perpetuity in the score of the new work. You’ll also get behind-the-scenes access with special email and video updates as the new work is written. You can also keep up to date with the commissioning process on Twitter using #10forTenor and by joining the Tenner for a Tenor fan page on Facebook.
What will you choose? 4lb of sausages or a new piece of music? Both cost the same but only one of them will last a lifetime. Join the Tenner for Tenor campaign now.
