Ahead of the much-anticipated unveiling of their brand new 400-seat theatre, the rising star of UK summer opera festivals – Nevill Holt Opera – has now announced a new orchestral partnership with Britten Sinfonia for their 2018 season.
The festival will present the first UK revival of the acclaimed production of Thomas Adès’ Powder her Face, originally created by Northern Ireland Opera. Featuring Britten Sinfonia and conducted by rising star Ian Ryan this production is sure to dazzle and entertain in equal measure.
David Butcher, Britten Sinfonia’s Artistic Director and Chief Executive commented:
“We are very much looking forward to this new partnership with Nevill Holt Opera and to being part of the first season in their new theatre. The orchestra has strong artistic ties with composer Thomas Adès, so it is particularly fitting to be playing his dazzling score to Powder her Face – a first for both the orchestra, and for Nevill Holt.”
