A Hum About Mine Ears
A Hum About Mine Ears is a new visionary nine-movement song cycle for solo voice, mixed choir and orchestra, written by internationally acclaimed vocalist & composer Clara Sanabras . The song cycle is based on some of William Shakespeare’s most famous texts from The Tempest and elegantly juxtaposes them with new songs, inspired by the characters in the play. First commissioned by Ruth Whitehead for her community choir Chorus of Dissent in 2014, a recording of A Hum About Mine Ears will be released in 2016, to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.
This Barbican performance is part of the Shakespeare400 celebrations in 2016.
