In Holy Week we perform Sir James MacMillan’s Stabat Mater with the Choir of Westminster Cathedral
Britten Sinfonia premiered this work with The Sixteen in London, Rome and New York in 2016-19.
Also in Holy Week we perform MacMillan's Seven Last Words from the Cross with Tenebrae, followed in June by the premiere of Angels Unawares with The Sixteen.
Seven Last Words from the Cross
MacMillan’s intense and emotionally-direct Passiontide setting has deservedly become a modern classic. Britten Sinfonia performs in Bury St Edmunds and London during Holy Week 2026.
