DOTS & LINES
This interactive concert explores the connections between art and music...

This concert explores connections between the visual and the aural. Famous artworks of the late 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries are enhanced by original illustration and animation from Victor Craven, while the curious, questioning, soaring melody line of the cello converses and dances with the artworks.
Presented and led by workshop leader, composer, and trombonist Raph Clarkson, children will have the opportunity to sing, move and improvise in this colourful and playful performance. Interactive and accessible, the show introduces the idea of graphic scores, improvisation, and the deeper connection between music and art.
This performance is most suitable for KS2, but is equally accessible to KS1 - especially if schools feel they have a good existing music provision. For schools at the start of their musical journey, see our show Tiny Magic Orchestra.
How much does it cost?
Dots & Lines is being developed as a cost-effective solution for schools looking to introduce their children to live music.
The cost of a performance is £200. If your school is able to pay the full amount, we truly appreciate it as it helps support our work across a full school's tour. If you are in a school with a high pupil premium, do get in touch as we can find a way to reduce or subsidise costs via our partners, music hubs and further grants.
The performances suit around 100 children per session. The 50-minute performance can be delivered up to four times in one location or in multiple nearby schools on the same day. Each performance is presented by workshop leader and trombonist, Raph Clarkson and a Britten Sinfonia cellist.
Thanks to the generous support of our funders, we are able to offer performances in the following districts for a subsidised rate of £150.
- Peterborough
- Fenland District
- West Norfolk
- Breckland
