BENJAMIN RUSSELL
Double Bass
Benjamin Russell Is Principal Double Bass of the London Mozart Players and a member of the Britten Sinfonia, for whom he regularly plays as guest principal as well as with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and City of London Sinfonia.
He has recorded for various pop artists including Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol as well as regularly playing for television and film soundtracks.
Benjamin studied at the Guildhall of Music and Drama with Thomas Martin and Stephen Williams, during which time he began playing with Britten Sinfonia and the English Chamber Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, Benjamin has been asked to play with the Allegri Quartet, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble and London Winds, as well as performing at the Plush and Leicester International Music Festivals.
